Chicken Liver Pate!

This is by far my ultimate fertility superfood! This is not only amazing for fertility but also general optimum health, which makes sense, considering we all want optimum health prior to conception, why not making this a staple food on your routine? This has to be the easiest and most nutrient dense snack you can find, you can prepare a big batch and freeze singles serves, all it takes is defrosting and there you have the perfect snack for the week! This is also perfect for for babies starting solids and AMAZING for pregnant mummas!


Ingredients:

  • 500g of Chicken livers (you can use beef or lamb, however the flavour of chicken is a bit more pleasant for beginners)

  • 2 -3 cloves of garlic

  • 1 brown onion

  • Salt to taste

  • Bone broth (chicken or beef is fine)

  • Organic butter or ghee

  • Spices of choice ( I usually use paprika, turmeric, cumin and cayenne pepper 🌶)


How to make:

  1. Chop onions and garlic, brown in butter or ghee

  2. Once onions are brown add the liver and about 200ml of bone broth and let it simmer

  3. Once chicken livers are well cooked (about 20 mins), add cooked mixture to a food processor and another full table spoon of ghee + bone broth (add enough so the mixture blends nicely and smooth

  4. Once well blended, try the mixture for the need of more salt, spices or bone broth.

  5. Divide the mixture in to serves and freeze what you wish, if consuming straight away keep refrigerated.

  6. Serve with good quality crackers and vegetable sticks, like carrots, celery, cucumber, capsicum!
